All-on-6 is the evolution of All-on-4: it uses 6 implants instead of 4 to rehabilitate an entire dental arch. The two additional implants in the posterior zone provide a more even distribution of chewing forces, greater long-term stability and the ability to support more extensive prostheses. Like All-on-4, it features immediate loading: the patient leaves with fixed teeth the same day.
All-on-6 is recommended when posterior bone is sufficient for additional implants and the patient wants maximum stability and longevity. The incremental cost over All-on-4 is modest (about €1,000 per arch) and justified by the biomechanical benefit. All-on-6 is preferable when: posterior bone is sufficient for additional implants, the arch is particularly wide, the patient has strong bite forces, or maximum stability is desired. The dentist recommends the optimal solution after the 3D CT scan. For many patients All-on-4 is already sufficient.
